7-11 Go Go Taquitos Part Deux

You're probably expecting a post about the new Kwik-E-Marts that have sprung up as a special promotion for The Simpson's Movie, but that will have to wait until later. There are more important things to talk about mostly notably more Go Go Taquito goodness from 7-11.

Recently I reported about the Cheeseburger Go Go Taquito. It seems that on a monthly basis or so, that 7-11 releases new flavors of it's Go Go Taquitos. This month they released the Supreme Pepperoni Go Go Taquito. While this may seem like a novel filling for a Taquito, I have to admit that I was a little bit disappointed by it. This Taquito is filled with pizza sauce, just a small amount of mozarella cheese, a little bit of pepperoni, bell peppers and some other undistinguishable ingredients. I wanted to like this Taquito as I had been a fan of the earlier Cheeseburger Taquito, because it actually tasted like a cheeseburger in taquito form. Unfortunately the same cannot be said of the Supreme Pepperoni Taquito. It had a sour tomatoey taste, the bell peppers and other ingredients did not mix well and each bite tasted a little different than the last with poor distribution of ingredients. Perhaps it was just the 2 taquitos I ordered, but I'm not inclined to try it again.

On a more positive note, they have brought back the Shredded Beef Go Go Taquito. Yes it has a good beef taste to it, and the jack cheese, and spices make for a good tasting taquito. The beef is nicely shredded and the cheese is equally distributed along the taquito making every bite a meaty and cheesy experience.

Also available again is the Southwest Chicken and Montery Jack Taquito with little cubes of chicken and a southwestern cheese sauce that is a little drippy but also delicious. The outer taquito shell is colored orange and has some pepper and spice on it as well.

The one other Taquito that I know is occasionally served is the Jalapeno and Cream Cheese Taquito. This taquito is too thick with cream cheese and it fill you up quickly leaving you with an uneasy feeling in your stomach. The cream cheese is too thick, and while the Jalapeno adds nice heat to the taquito, I still feel disgusted by it.

So next time you visit your local Kwik-E-Mart or 7-11 give these Taquitos a try. They are always experimenting with new flavors, and I can't wait to see what they release next month.

I was stoked when I went to 7-11 a couple of weeks ago and discovered that they had replaced their Slurpee cups with Squishee cups. I had my first Squishee and felt as if I had just purchase it from Apu at the Kwiki-Mart. Sure, there wasn't a guy named Apu at the counter. At least, i don't think his name was Apu. Even though it was still a Slurpee, I felt as if I were in Springfield and not Shelbyville.
